Turkish Airlines has opened "Istanbul Arrival Lounge"

Turkish Airlines opens arrival lounge at Istanbul Atatürk Airport, offering premium passengers the opportunity to freshen up on arrival, after flights. The lounge is exclusive to Business Class travelers or Miles&Smiles Elite Plus members. The arrival lounge is open daily from 5:00 am to 13:00 pm.

Ryanair to open base in Eindhoven airport

Ryanair has announced it will open a new base in Eindhoven in April 2013. The new base in Eindhoven will result in new routes to Agadir, Bordeaux, Chania and Fez as well as increased frequencies to Alicante, Faro, Ibiza, Malaga, Marrakech and Pisa.

Dubai Airport Terminal 3 Opens

The terminal is being used exclusively by Dubai national airline Emirates - and when fully operational will be able to handle 43 million passengers every year.Flights at Terminal 3 include local flights to Doha, Muscat, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jeddah, Damman and Riyadh, as well as intercontinental services to Europe, the USA, South America. Passengers can connect to Terminal 3 using either car parks or a brand new metro station that is connected to the other terminals at the airport. The terminal concourse also features 14 restaurants, premium airport lounges, shops, and a spa. There is a huge duty free area covering 8,000 square metres including departures, arrivals and landside shops.

 

Eastern Airways Aberdeen - Oslo service launches

Eastern Airways launches its first ever service to Oslo today (Monday 12 January 2009), with a direct air link from Aberdeen to the Norwegian capital. Todayís inaugural flight leaves Aberdeen at 10.20am and arrives in Oslo at 1.05pm local time. From Oslo weekday flights depart at 1.45pm, landing in Aberdeen at 2.30pm local time. Sunday services leave Aberdeen at 12.20pm, landing in Oslo at 3.05pm local time. Flights depart Oslo at 3.35pm, arriving in Aberdeen at 4.20pm local time. Services are operated by a 50 seat Saab 2000 aircraft.

 

Thai Airports Reopen After Protests End

Both Suvarnabhumi, and the smaller Don Muang airport which handles domestic traffic, have been closed for 7 days after protesters besieged them. The first international arrival into Suvarnabhumi is expected within 24 hours. The occupation of the two airports has crippled Thailandís economy and has stranded up to 350,000 tourists, according to the Thai Tourism Ministry.

 

JFK Opens JetBlue Terminal

New York"s John F. Kennedy International has opened a brand new terminal building today, 22nd September. It is being used exclusively by JetBlue. It will handle 30% of the airport"s entire passenger traffic, equating to 20 million passengers every year. Terminal 5 is a three-story building, and is served by 26 gates. There is a 5,500m square central space reserved for retail and leisure facilities. The airport is promoting the new terminal as "The T5 Experience". There will be 250 kiosks located around the airport, at which passengers will be able to choose food and drink from all the vendors in the terminal, combining them into a single order.
